Do airlines test their pilots for prescription drugs such as Zoloft,
Paxil, or Xanax? I know these drugs are a violation of the pilots FAA
medical certificate (which is an honor system questionnaire) and they
are not suppose to fly if using them; however, I?m more interested in
the actual testing for prescription drug use. Is this a standardized
policy created by the unions (because the FAA does not mandate it) or
does this very from airline to airline? If prescription drug testing
does exist and policies do differ, I?m particularly interested in the
testing practices of Southwest, Jet Blue, Frontier, and Spirit
airlines. Thanks!
