Does anyone know where I can buy cloudberries in Manhattan, NY? Or a website I can order them from for delivery? I am not interested in preserves or the whole plant...just to buy about 1 lb of berries for a swedish desert |

Lisa, I know exactly what you are talking about, and - very personally - I like the thought that cloud berries are difficult to find in NYC since emotionally I want to believe that they can only be in Scandinavia. And they are, apparently, very difficult to find. This site mentions them, and is a specialist on Scandinavian imports, so you could start by asking them: http://www.scanspecialties.com/ I thought of frozen berries. If you have any connections to Sweden, maybe someone there could freeze 2 lbs (1 kilo) of loose cloud berries and send them to you by express airmail. Might still be cheaper than any US price. With a some insulating packing (bubble plastic, etc.), you might have 1 lb of good berries. If you don't have any personal contacts, you could try the Swedish and Norwegian Seamen's Missions or churches. I wish you luck, Myoarin |

Hello I live in Toronto Canada and it is possible to find the fresh berries here in some of the fruit markets, however, they are rather expensive. Also, some IKEA stores carry the frozen berries. Would substituting raspberries work in your dessert? Regards, C |
