Hello, shuga-ga,
After a comprehensive search of internet usage in Germany, the UK,
France, Denmark and Spain, I have found a lot of useful information
for you. Please bear in mind that there is some variation in the
statistics, depending on the source cited. Differences in article
dates, as well as the source location, can result in a slight change
in numbers. In some cases, I have cited more than one source to
provide more complete information. Also, much of the information for
the various countries comes in snippets rather than a comprehensive
overview, since internet usage data is still somewhat scarce for
particular countries. Where country-specific information is lacking,
some of the generalized information I have included should offer some
help.
Germany
General information:
Germany has the highest number of Internet users in Europe,
according to the latest research from NetValue. At the end of March,
there were 16.3 million Internet users in Germany, compared to 15.9
million in the UK, 11.4 million in France, and 7.8 million in Italy.

I am sorry to say that you simply will not find the exact breakdown
of internet usage statistics for income levels that you desire for the
amount of money you are willing to pay. The type of exact information
you want is available for a hefty price, however. Forrester Research
is an example of a company that offers reports that will breakdown
internet usage demographically. One such report, out of many that they
offer, is the Germany 2001 Data Overview for $4,995.00. It will
provide you with statistics including online usage and behavior. They
have a wealth of reports covering most countries at
http://www.forrester.com/home/0,6092,1-2,FF.html
Another source of demographics is from NetValue.com. at
http://www.netvalue.com/ . You can order the monthly NetValue Internet
Overview, with subscription prices starting at 1000 Euros.
For general public use, however, I did find a good statistical chart
from NetValue that breaks down internet usage by gender, age and
occupation for all the countries you have requested except Denmark. It
will not give you exact income levels!
To get to the article:
Go to http://www.netvalue.com/ . Click on the Press Room Tab at the
top of the page. Scroll down until you find the article NetValue
Study on: US and European Internet Usage (February 23, 2001)
For earlier statistics, not including Denmark, scroll down to
NetValue Reveals Latest Internet Statistics and First Ever Results in
Mexico (August 2000).
Another report from NetValue, which includes Denmark, as well as the
other countries you have requested, gives information on age and
gender, but nothing about income levels.
Again, go to http://www.netvalue.com/ , Click on the Press Room Tab,
scroll down until you find the article NetValue Releases Internet
Statistics and First Ever Panel Results in Spain (November 2000).
A more recent report which includes Denmark (but nothing about
income) is also by NetValue at
http://www.netvalue.com/blink/blink_int0601.htm#1
Income level and internet usage for Denmark is still scarce after
another 3 hours of searching. Here is one snippet:
Internet penetration in households is strongly affected by
household income. The difference between Internet access in households
belonging to the lowest and highest income quartiles is highest in the
United States and lowest in Denmark The share of adults using the
Internet from any location is also increasing rapidly, and more than
half of the adult population now use the Internet in Sweden (68%),
Denmark (62%), Finland (54%) and Canada (53%). Apart from Denmark, the
share of Internet users is highest in those countries with a
relatively lower average Internet price basket over the 1995-2000
period. From Access to and use of the Internet by Households and
Individuals. (2001) at
http://www1.oecd.org/publications/e-book/92-2001-04-1-2987/B.5.2.htm
From the above, you might extrapolate that internet usage in Denmark
is spread quite evenly among economic levels, as compared to other
countries (such as the US.)
You might be able to find some outdated figures about Denmark in a
1997 IT report at http://www.fsk.dk/fsk/publ/1998/itfigures/indhold.htm
Well, this has required many hours of research. I cannot do any
better than this. I hope you can compile enough information from these
figures without having to pay several thousand for a private research
report.
Good Luck!
