I'd like to know the cost to have a "normal" land-line domestic
telephone installed in Ekaterinburg. Price range and median would be
best. Quoted in $US please. Including purchase of phone, if
necessary. Also, mean time to install from time of order.
Approximations are OK - Is it $50 and the next day with the phone for
free, or $1000 sometime next year with another $500 if you actually
want the phone, not the line, or somewhere in between. What would the
"typical" resident pay, and how long would they wait?

Thanks Seizer:
My Russian is - well - practically zero - If I sound out the letters
and take a wild guess, sometimes I may even by right by accident! I
ran the page through Babelfish. It looks to me as if ETEL is an ISP -
what I'm after is just the cost for an ordinary phone installation.
Maybe ETEL do this too, but I couldn't understand their site well
enough to find out.

Some of the information you want seems to be available here (will
require Babelfishing):

http://www.aoets.ru/html/serv/tarifs/tarif_all.html

Somewhat confusing, but it seems as if installation of a phoneline is
3150 roubles, which equates to about $100. (That is, if installation =
"Granting of access to telephone network on wire").

I'm afraid I can't seem to find any information on the time taken to
install it. Good luck in your search anyway!
