I need the yearend closing price for Chrysler stock for each year from 1970 through 2000 inclusive. (Was C, now is DCX). Also were there any splits or reverse-splits duiring that period? | |

Instead of paying somebody, just head over to http://finance.yahoo.com and use their historical prices link. It provides the same information and can even be specified to return data for year end prices. -Alex |

Alex -- Yahoo!Finance and BigCharts.com drop unlisted securities from their databases. And even DCX only goes back to 1998. My guess is that Macmavin knew that too. A research without access to something like the Center for Research on Security Prices (CRSP) can do this manually by going to old NY Times or Wall Street Journal issues -- and we often do. But as Juggler noted, that's a longer effort, probably taking about 5 minutes per year or 2 1/2 hours. Adding stock split information probably takes the task to 3 hours. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
