JimCrossley -- I can't find the gate for that fight. The Cooper-Clay (now Muhammad Ali) fight in May, 1966 at Wembley Stadium in London had a gate of $1.2 million: Time Magazine "Prizefighting's Million-Dollar Gates" http://www.time.com/time/archive/printout/0,23657,904805,00.html I checked the New York Times for the Sept. 20, 1966 Cooper vs. Patterson gate, but none is mentioned in the stories on the fight, which Patterson won with a knockout.
