Hello.

The words seem to be an altered version of something from Thomas
Moore's HYMN OF A VIRGIN OF DELPHI, AT THE TOMB OF HER MOTHER:

"...All that the young should feel and know
By thee was taught so sweetly well,
Thy words fell soft as vernal snow,
And all was brightness where they fell!"

Indeed, Moore is credited with a version that's a bit closer to what
you cite in an 1850 oration at Harvard:

"If for good, we realize Moore's description:--

Thy words had such a melting flow,
And spake of truth so sweetly well,
They dropped like heaven's sereness snow,
And all was brightness where they fell."

search strategy:
"brightness where they fell"
moore "melting flow"
