I watched an infomercial on tv about smart technique weight loss, gauranteed to loose, by listening to tapes at night before you go to bed? How many people are actually seeing weight loss reductions and how much weight loss was achieved over what amount of time if any, as a direct result of the Smart Technique Weight Loss program? |

Although I have not seen the infomercial, I can tell you chances are, they don't work. The only good way to lose weight is the hard way. I'd recommend the book "Body for Life" (I don't remember the author). I tells you a good diet and workout which have helped everyone I know lose weight. |

Listening to tapes as a method of weight loss sounds like a self-hypnosis technique. Over the long term, self-hypnosis isn't a very effective method of controlling one's weight. Poor eating habits and other lifestyle choices are not so easily overcome. Infomercial weight loss scams are plentiful. You can find lots of good free info about weight loss on the Internet. Paying for audiotapes for which extravagant, unverifiable claims are made is gonna make your wallet weigh less, but that's the only weight loss you are likely to achieve. |

I took the trouble to search on the name, hoping to find a blog, but the diet people have pages and pages of sales sites - and I didn't refine my search. Yes, there is some self-hypnosis, or maybe the tapes just keep you from hearing your stomach growling when you go to bed, maybe trying to help you sleep and not raid the icebox. |

If that would have worked, no one would be overweight or obese! So obviously it does not work and sadly there are no shortcuts to physical fitness. People equate weight loss to fitness which is not entirely true. Good physical fitness has 2 main components i.e body fat percentage and body weight. Listening to tapes might motivate you to go out of the house but direct weight loss? Impossible. I can elaborate further if you would ask me. regards |
