We have a group of 8 arriving into Houston Intercontinental Airport,
staying one night at the Hilton NASA Clear Lake, and leaving on a
cruise the next day out of the Port of Houston (Barbours Cut
Terminal). None of us know the Houston area, but we know that these
various locations are significant distances from one another (we used
miles and vouchers, so we had no flexibility of choice). We would
like to know what the most efficient and economical form of transport
would be from airport to hotel to cruise ship for all of us. We fly
in at various times, but we would be willing to wait for each others'
flights if that made sense. We have researched renting a van, but
there seems to be no rental facility near the cruise terminal to drop
it off the next day. Each taxi would be over $70 from airport to
hotel, plus the fare to the cruise terminal the next day. Shuttle
services generally charge "per person" -- and we would still need to
take taxis to the ship. What is our best (most economical) option,
from airport to hotel to cruise terminal?

Just a free comment: You ahould ask the hotel. It should be familiar
with ground logistics to the airport and also with local ground
transport services.

Thanks for the suggestion, myoarin! It was the hotel that gave us the
information about cab fares, since their shuttle only serves Hobby
airport. They also suggested some limo services, but the costs are
just so high -- we were hoping that there was some alternative we
hadn't yet considered.
