Howdy xiquet-ga,

Even though the following referenced study was with labels immersed in a
preservative solution, it shows that laser printed labels are extremely
durable.

"LASER-PRINTED LABELS IN WET COLLECTIONS: WILL THEY HOLD UP?" written by
KRISTA ZALA, N. DEAN PENTCHEFF, AND REGINA WETZER.
http://isopods.nhm.org/people/wetzer/pdf/10224.pdf

"This study establishes the ability of laser-printed labels on a variety
of cotton rag papers to withstand immersion in commonly used preservative
solutions for 14 yr without discernable deterioration."

A weatherproof/waterproof laser label, such as the one described on this
Online Labels, Inc. web page, could make a laser printed label even more
durable.
http://www.onlinelabels.com/br_material.htm

"It is an excellent choice for outdoor applications or applications where
durability is required."

If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask.

Search strategy:

Google search on: "laser printer" label OR labels durability
