The name of our neighborhood is kopua farm lots. I'm trying to learn
what this name, "kopua" means in this particular application.

According to this unofficial source by Hinenui Tipoki-Lawson, the word
?Kopua? is from the Polynesian language of the Maori (M?ori) and it
means ?depth of a well, depth of healing?.

aloha and thanks!

I was loking for something a little more "offcial" or "definitive". I
did an extensive search and came across the same information in your
link.

I also found that kopua among the maori's also means some sort of
meeting place, a tribal leaders name and the definition in the .pdf
link you sent.

I'd like to know what kopua means in the context of a place name.
Perhaps this question is better suited for the person that came up
with the name in the first place? Thanks for the efforts.
