Total number of people infected with AIDS, world wide, since 1981

According to the figures below an estimated 60 to 65 million people
have been infected HIV Aids since 1981.

The latest statistics on the world epidemic of AIDS & HIV were
published by UNAIDS/WHO in December 2004. The report gives the latest
AIDS and HIV statistics for the whole world and for regions.

Number of people living with HIV/AIDS in 2004 worldwide: Total 39.4 million

More than 20 million people have died of AIDS since 1981.
