Hardly classified as "all destinations in the world", but here's a
nicely-organized list of place names, in English, Dutch, French,
Greek, and Italian:
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/alb_gsb/diplomacy/articles/language1.htm
Is that getting any closer to what you need? Would it help to have
these names in a spreadsheet format?
Let me know,

Hello again.
I've found a list in Excel format of 130 major cities of the world
(listed below) in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, and Dutch.
The city names list looks like this (in the same order as the above languages):
Bucharest, Bucarest, Bukarest, Bucharest, Bucarest, Bucareste, Bukarest, Boekarest
Again, the list of cities is below. Let me know if this looks like it
would serve as an answer to your question.
Cheers,
pafalafa-ga

unfortunately all these lists seem to be incomplete or very small
take for example a detailed example of
Targu Mures - a city in Romania, it's
Neumarkt in German
Marosvasarhely in Hungarian
i think that perhaps connecting into Mappoint from Microsoft would
allow me to extract the data?

Here's an interesting site that has a pretty deep list of city names
in multiple languages, for most of Europe:
http://www.p.lodz.pl/I35/personal/jw37/EUROPE/europe-T.html
For instance, Târgu Mure? (ro), is also given as:
Maros-Torda (hu)
Neumarkt (de)
Târgu Mure?, Tîrgu Mure? (ro)
while London is listed as:
Llundain (cy)
Londain (ga)
Londen (nl)
Londinium (la)
Londona (lv)
Londonas (lt)
Londra (it, rm, tr)
Londre (rm)
Londres (ct, es, fr, pt)
Londyn (pl)
Londýn (cz, sk)
Lontoo (fi)
Lundun (no),
Lundúnaborg, Lundúnir (is)
Names are also given for other alphabets.
I don't see a neat way to import such a list into a spreadsheet file,
but the information is there...at least for Europe.
Let me know what you think.

ck_be-ga,
I found a service that can create a list to your precise specifications.
The have a database of millions of city names worldwide. About 11,000
of the major cities have language variant names in a very large
assortment of languages, including Arabic, Gaelic, Parsi, and so on,
along with the usual -- English, French, German, and so on.
The cost to create the list would be $450.
Please contact The Global Gazetteer to see if they fully meet your
needs. If they do, let me know, and I will post my research results
as a formal answer to your question, so that I can collect the fee you
have offered.
The company's contact information is:
