I am interested in the 1958 California Governor election. My questions
are three: Is there data on precints and their votes? Can you find all
of the sources for Senator William F. Knowland's decision to run for
Governor giving up his Senate seat? Finally are their historical
treatments of California's political history from 1940 to 1982 (this
encompasses the rise of Earl Warren, Richard Nixon, Ronal Reagan, and
Pat and Jerry Brown).
