What is the success rate of making "good" hard (cheddar, edam, etc) cheeses at home? Is it difficult? Where would be the right places to shop for quality cheese making kits/supplies? TY T |

I don't know anyone who makes homemade hard cheeses, but a friend of mine makes her own mozzarella. She recommends this website for info and supplies: http://cheesemaking.com/ |

I've successfully made mascarpone, chevre and camembert (but failed at stilton). I haven't made any hard cheese...yet. I imagine that it's easier to make cheddar than it is to make camembert or stilton, though - not having to worry as to whether you have good mold or bad mold makes things a lot easier :) |
