redirecting short urls on an intranet. I want a user to type
"Directions" into their browser and be redirected to a specific page
hosted on our intranet. For example, user types "Directions" into
their browser and be automatically redirected to
\\Fs1\Public\EDITORIAL\Electronic\user-accessible\index.html

Configure your DNS to resolve "Directions" into some IP. Configure
web-server on the PC with that IP. At the web-server place a page that
will redirect the user in accordance with the original URL.
