Looking for an old children's storybook. Would like author, publication info, title verification, location info, whatever. From the 50s or 60s. (I was probably in possession of the book around 1965.) I'm pretty sure the title is "Up and Down Our Street." About very young kids who do little but innocently goof around in their neighborhood. The book is arranged to be read one page a day for 365 days, bedtime stories. No continuous story; just the seasons of the year going by. Stuff like lying in the grass and wondering what shape the clouds make. I also recall the book was kinda big (like 9x12 or larger), heavy cardboard hardcover, pulpy yellowed pages, and simple line-drawing illustrations of the very young kids. | |

Hi. Your book was probably "365 bedtime stories; a story for every day of the year about the children on What-a-Jolly Street" by Nan Gilbert. See Alibris.com: http://www.alibris.com/search/detail.cfm?BID=8612405012 Also see eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-365-Bedtime-Stories-WHAT-A-JOLLY-ST-Nan-Gilbert_W0QQitemZ6568140515QQcategoryZ29223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The book was apparently published with several different covers. See Logan.com: http://www.logan.com/loganberry/most-gilbert.html -------- search strategy: 365 stories street "children's book" I hope this helps. |
