Question ID: 580128
I live near Cresskill,NJ. I have been offered a position in Goleta, California.
Now I have special skills. The position is of R&D Image processing
engineer and I have 2 yrs of experience in this industry. Also I have
a Bachelors in Electrical engineering, a M.S degree in Electrical
engg. and another M.S degree in Biomedical Engg. With this specific
background can you help me estimate my expected salary in goleta.
Please factor in my specialized background as well as the cost of
living difference between the two places. Also if you arrive with a
yearly salary please break the salary down to biweekly payment amount
after tax and other deductions. Basically the tax would be CA tax and
Federal and social security and medicare. I am single and would claim
almost no exemptions.
Thanks
G

Also adding to the questions. I wanted to know as much information
about Karl Storz Imaging in Goleta,CA. Need specific answers to
questions like what is their yearly earning, how is the company doing
and how stable it is financially, Are the engineers working their
satisfied completely and what is the mean salary of engineers there
and what should I expect having a outstanding qualifications. Since
its a private company their are no resources on web giving information
about its finances.
If you specifically answer the questions above you would get a $5 bonus.
thanks,
G

Hello gaurav811-ga,

You've asked a complex question that will require some clarification
before even attempting an answer. It will require a lot of digging.
There's a chance that it's unanswerable. You've reposted it because
you didn't get any response at $5.00. (Please note that you don't have
to repost a question if you want to raise the price or add a
clarification.)

Since this is the first question you've posted, I suggest that you
review the following links so that you have the best possible Google
Answers experience. After reviewing the pricing structure you might
want to raise the price of your question. This is a tough search and
the price you've posted will get you a minimal answer at most --
possibly someone's off-the-cuff opinion. If you want a researcher to
make a serious attempt at answering your multi-part question, you will
have to raise your price.

I already know the cost of living factor. But also want to factor in
my qualifications and my experience and how that will leverage my
expected salary.
Thanks anyways

Your expected salary is what you have been offered.

Some employers are impressed by paper qualifications, generally in my
opinion those employers are not the best sort of people to work for.

Sadly academia and the real world exist in totally different dimensions.

In moderately high tech areas it is not unusual for someone with no
paper qualifications to be a highly paid guru - practical experience
and innate ability is what really counts.

It sounds as if you are two years in to work, pretty much the time
when one starts learning how the world really works.
