how do i make my windows xp home laptop go on standby when i close the lid
and it is not plugged in, but not go on standby when it is plugged in?

maybe my power options control panel differs from yours, but i think
you need to read my question carefully. or maybe my question is
wrongly and/or awkwardly phrased.

this is what i want:
plugged in & lid closed -> not on standby
unplugged & lid closed -> standby
