Hi Carol,

Google's cache of your website represents how it was the last time
Google's robot crawled the site. It is possible to have the cache
removed by either using a META tag or contacting Google directly (see
below).

For most websites, the change of the cached copy will occur after
Google's monthly update (there was one a few days ago) - the new
cached copy will be from sometime during the previous month.

Google crawls most sites monthly. If the content of one of your pages
changes frequently (every day or two), resubmit that page - Google can
recognise which pages change a lot, and many of these are then crawled
on a more frequent basis, and updated in the index more frequently,
including the cache. These sites have a date alongside them in Google
search results.

The following is official Google advice from their website:

Cached Links
============

Google takes a snapshot of each page examined as it crawls the web and
caches these as a back-up in case the original page is unavailable. If
you click on the "Cached" link, you will see the web page as it looked
when we indexed it. The cached content is the content Google uses to
judge whether this page is a relevant match for your query.

When the cached page is displayed, it will have a header at the top
which serves as a reminder that this is not necessarily the most
recent version of the page. Terms that match your query are
highlighted on the cached version to make it easier for you to see why
your page is relevant.

The "Cached" link will be missing for sites that have not been
indexed, as well as for sites whose owners have requested we not cache
their content.

Un-cache my site?
=================

If you don't want your content to be accessible through Google's
cache, use a <META> tag with a CONTENT="NOARCHIVE" attribute. To do
so, place the following line in the <HEAD> section of your documents:

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOARCHIVE">

This tag tells robots not to archive the page. Google will continue to
index and follow links from the page, but will not present cached
material to users. If you want to allow other robots to cache your
content, but prevent Google's robots from doing so, use the following
tag:

<META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOARCHIVE">

Please note that the change will take effect the next time Google
crawls the page containing the NOARCHIVE directive in a <META> tag. If
you want this change to take effect sooner, the site owner must
contact us and request immediate removal of archived content.
