Question ID: 580907
I am trying to find a list of musicians/music groups that performed at
each presidential inauguration and surrounding festivities since 1989.
I also need a list of the songs they performed and the date and
location of each performance. I would except either a list of the
above or a website address that has the information. In addition to
this, I am curious to find out information about any of these
musicians? political activities, especially those relating to
presidential campaigns.
Thank you and happy hunting!!

Hello danacgm-ga:

Do you mean performers who played at the inauguration -- swearing-in
-- ceremony, or performers who played at inaugural balls?

I have found quite a bit of information about which musical acts have
performed at inaugural balls, but I doubt that I can find a complete
list of songs played. For example, in January 2001, nine inaugural
balls were held to honor President Bush.

So, I -- or one of my colleagues -- could probably come up with a very
nearly complete list of performers, but not songs.

As to the musicians' political activities, that's really a separate question.

You might want to check out these pricing guidelines:

Since assembling a list of performers for so many inaugurations will
be rather time-consuming, you might want to consider either raising
your fee and/or posting a separate question about the political
activities of musicians who've performed at inaugurations.

Best regards,

Hi Nancylynn,

Thank you for your response. Ideally, I would need a list of the
musicians that performed at the inauguration, inaugural balls and the
swearing in ceremonies since 1989. I could get by with a partial list
of the songs performed if this is all that is available. At what
price might you be willing to answer this question? After this part of
the question is answered I will post the "political activities"
portion as a different question per your request. This might be better
as once I have the list of performers, I can include it in the new
question.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Thank you for your prompt response.

I really can't tell you what this information is worth to you; only
you know that. I can tell you that it will take me at least several
hours total to come up with a good number of song titles. (It's
actually quite easy to find artists' names; not so easy to find the
titles of the tunes they sang/played.)

I can't promise that I'll find every artist/song -- a few may elude me
-- but I'll certainly do my best to be as comprehensive as possible.

Thanks,
nancylynn-ga
