Question ID: 580968
I'm wanting to identify three performers, all vocalists who probably
performed widely in New York City around the 1930s and 40s, especially
in the area of New Music. I am working from references to them at WNYC
in 1940. All of them were involved with German refugees of the period.
I have little to go on, but they were almost certainly very famous
people in their own circles, and even a last name should be enough:
Leore Meyer, Rose Landwehr, and a Miss Dick (who performed songs by Webern)

I need enough info about each of them to write short notes identifying them.
Info about date of birth and decease, career, musical studies, would
be to the point.

I can find a reasonable amount of information on Rose Landwehr.

Nothing shows up for Leore Meyer, but there are breif mentions of a
soprano named Leonore Meyer in the late '30's, and I suspect this is
who you are asking about.

Nothing conclusive on a Miss Dick.

Perhaps you should post separate questions for each performer, so that
researchers are not constrained by finding information on one, but not
the other.

Glad to hear you have info on two of the singers. I will cancel this
large question, and repost it question as three separate questions.
That is a good idea.
