Hi zuck-ga,
Your question is one that I'm sure many people have asked when they
change various hardware configuration within their system. The
following is a step-by-step procedure for bring in all the information
from the OLD Outlook Express into the NEW Outlook Express. Be aware,
though, that there is currently no way to synchronize the two
installations...for example if you receive an email when on the C
Drive, it will not be able to reflect this change in the Outlook
Express on the D Drive.
EXPORTING ADDRESS BOOK FROM DRIVE D
1. Boot up in Drive D (old) and start Outlook Express
2. Go to File > Export > Address Book > Text File (comma seperated
values)
3. Click Export and then Browse
4. Save this file and remember the location and filename (you will
need to access it using the new drive so if you can't see the other
drive you can save it to a floppy disk. Make sure the "type" is Comma
Seperated Values.
5. Select all the fields you want to keep (if you're not sure just
select them all)
6. Click "Close"
IMPORTING ADDRESS BOOK INTO DRIVE C
1. Boot up in Drive C (new) and start Outlook Express
2. Go to File > Import > Other Address Book > Text File (comma
seperated values)
3. Click browse and find the file you exported previously and then
click Next
4. Make sure the mapping is correct (ie. the fields match up properly)
and then click Finish
I just realized that the message exporting feature will not allow
exporting to a file but only directly to a program...since you are
running two seperate operating systems, the two programs will not be
able to "see" each other. If you have MS Outlook then there is a
workaround...let me know about this.
I've posted this information as a comment because it does not fully
