I need the the high and low temperature recorded for the specific day
of 10/17/2005. I need the City name and the country as well as the
temperature.

yes, i agree the day isnt over. I would be willing to accept the
current highs and lows as of 10:00 CST.Only places that are still in
play are some islands in the Pacific and i sincerely doubt they will
be at either of the extremes.

Well, in Vostok, Antarctica, it's a balmy 65 degrees (F) below zero:

These may well be the global high and low for the day, but it's hard
to state that definitively.
