I want to share my wireless internet connection with a neighbor. The neighbor lives about 400-500 feet from my home. This is a very rural area and there are no other homes or neighbors nearby. I need specific suggestions on what I will need at my home (source of DSL internet connection) and what will be needed at my neighbors house. What exactly do I need to boost the wireless signal from my house? I currently have a Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=202570&pcount=&Product_Id=184316). Will this router work or is there a better one? Would an external antenna be beneficial and if so what type of antenna would work with this Belkin router? Is there any other hardware (ie. range extender etc.) that would be beneficial? Please be as specific as possible on hardware and antenna suggested. What exactly would my neighbor need to best capture the signal and what would they need to repeat this signal throughout a wireless network in their home? What type of hardware and antenna would be best? |
