If you do not count indirect stock purchase through company pension
plan, insurance coverage, etc, what is the percentage of US and global
population (in terms of number of investors, not dollar amount) that
actively invest in stock? Then among this population, what is the
distribution of stock holding. (I heard one 1999 number says top 1% of
stock holders owns 42% of stock?)
