How much of the color "pink" can a baby boy wear (in clothing or as a
baby blanket) before there is
"gender confusion" on the part of the adult onlookers? This is for a
gender-bending art exhibition.

For all the verbal fancy-dancing, there isn't much in this answer
except one person's opinion. If I had posted a question at this price,
I'd have expected more. It would have been nice to see at least one
ourside source to back up all the fluff that came out of the
researcher's head.

leapinglizard's answer seems fairly authoritative to me, even though
it may be based only on his/her opinion and personal experience. I
can't imagine what sort of objective evidence there would be on such a
matter, which at the end of the day is simply irrational bias.
(Obviously, the colour of a baby's clothing has nothing whatever to do
with the baby's gender/sexuality, though it may have something to do
with the parents'.) Incidentally, it seems to me that it is only in
fairly recent years that the colour pink has been associated with
gays, and it probably has led to some men being inhibited from wearing
pink shirts, which were certainly quite popular 30 or so years ago.)

Just to add my two cents... there are several consulting firms and
organisations/groups that specialize in collecting data about color.
Especially in textiles. I would have consulted them. Here would have
been a place to start. http://www.colorassociation.com
