We are in need of data to support the transfer of business ownership
in the United States. 77 million boomers will retire over the next
decade. Here is the information we need:

1. What percentage of them are owners of privately held companies?
2. What percentage of privately held companies will transfer ownership
in the next 5 years? 10 years?
3. What percentage of ownership transfer of privately held companies
will be internal (family, key employees, etc.)
4. What percentage of ownership transfer of privately held companies
will be external (to outside 3rd parties)
5. If there is the ability to seperate transfer of ownership to family
vs. key employees that would be very helpful.
6. Trends - are there any studies or white papers that support trends
in this space.

Finally, any links or supporting information would be very helpful.
We would like to have a source on all statistics.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Highliner,
You have asked 6 pretty much individual questions. A researcher would
have to try to answer all of them satisfactorily to post an official
answer. You are much more likely to get a response if you post the
the questions separately. It will cost you a bit more (read the FAQs
on pricing), but I think you will be more successful.
This free comment is based on responses to many other questions of this type.
Just trying to be helpful, Myoarin

Thanks for your response. I actually thought the majority of the
questions would come out of the same report. I'll see what I can do
about seperating them.
