I am looking for a free UPC database (TXT or CSV file) that lists as
many possible UPC codes that would be used in a liquor store. This
includes Beer, Wine, Liquor, Mixers, etc. The minimum information I
am looking for besides a UPC code is the product Brand, Manufacturer,
Description, Category, & Size. I am aware that there are about 30,000
different UPC's for this category. While a full list would be great,
a list of the most common 10,000 - 20,000 would really help.

Hi thrax12,

I know you've asked for a free database, but I doubt if you'll be able
to find a sizeable, reliable, and up-to-date list that's also free.
Have you been to Gregg London's website? He is recognized as a
reputable dealer and you'd be wise to consider his product.

thrax12-ga,

There is, in fact, a free, reliable and very sizable database of UPC
codes and their respective products.

Problem is, though, these are UPC's for a wide variety of consumer
products, not just beer, wine and spirits.

Still, if you are interested in the full database -- and you can
handle a downloadable database with more than half a million records
-- then I'd be glad to post the information as an answer to your
question.

Let me know.

Yes, I have been to Greg London's website - and if I can't find a free
method than I plan to use his services. I just wanted to see if there
was anything free out there before paying for a list.

I am also aware of the upcdatabase.com that has a list of about
500,000 UPC's - I need them categorized though.
