Question ID: 583185
I am going to be traveling a path from Tuckerton, NJ to Philadelphia,
PA to Chadds Ford, PA and then back.

I am looking for the name, address, and phone number of at least one
restaurant within 30 minutes reach of any point of this path that
sells REALLY good sopapillas. I don't care about the rest of the menu,
I just want to find the restaurant with the best quality sopapillas.

Sopapillas: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopapilla

An important part of the definition posted at wikipedia is "LIKE a
tortilla". The sopapillas I'm looking for are NOT just deep-fried
tortillas. It is a different kind of dough that results in a much more
doughnuty-texture and consistency then fried tortillas. They must not
be crispy!

Serving style at the restaurant found must include honey. Ice cream is
a plus but not required.

I need to have this information before 10/29/05.

I must be able to purchase these sopapillas sometime between the
morning of 10/29/05 and the morning of 11/1/05.

I started this search myself by just trying to locate really good
Mexican restaurants in Philly; I found references online to these
four:

Philadelphia, PA, USA
Phone: 215-551-9920
Problem - Still exists, but doesn't sell sopapillas

all4him: I don't mind that it's a chain, my wife's favorite sopapillas
were made by Poncho's, a chain in Texas. Does it fit the description?
Not crispy? Not just fried tortillas? Served with honey?

I'm not going to just be trying this place out casually, I want to
surprise my wife with the best ones near us on our anniversary this
coming weekend.

My wife is from Texas and she says Don Pablos is a "step above"
Ponchos. They are exactly as you describe them, they're not crispy,
they're very light, kind of doughy, served with an insane buttery
honey sauce with a touch of lemon and powdered sugar sprinkled on
them. They're out of this world.

The reason I mentioned that its a chain is because rest of their food
I would describe as "average" Mexican, definately not the very best
authentic Mexican food you can get, but certainly not the worst
either. The Sopapillas though do stand out.

Hope you and your wife have a good aniversary, I've taken my own wife
there actually for our aniversary, nice atmosphere, try to be seated
by the fountain.

So what does that mean, you don't get paid for answering? This is my
first question, so I guess I don't know exactly how things work.

Nevermind, I read the Faq. Well, since I'm taking your recommendation
I guess I can cancel this question.

Thank you very much for your prompt help and suggestion. I wish you
could take the fee for it, cause you certainly deserve it.

Thanks again!
