Launched in Britain in 1983, Dogs Monthly sits in the important niche
between the 'professional' weekly canine newspapers which supply the
obsessive enthusiast with their regular fix of gossip, breed notes and
show reports and the canine magazines which provide pretty pictures,
pages of 'lists', campaign material from various lobby groups,
personality profiles of well known people who own dogs and helpful but
repetitive tips about dog ownership.
