Jimen,

According to the New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, Third Edition,it
was Lord Acton who said "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power
corrupts absolutely."

"An observation that a person?s sense of morality lessens as his or
her power increases. The statement was made by Lord Acton, a British
historian of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries."

The History of Freedom by John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton

"Lord Acton is popularly remembered for his pungent aphorisms ? "Power
tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely" ? but of far
deeper significance was his lifelong study of the history of freedom."

Though I do love the fact people are using Google Answers frequently,
wouldn't it have been easier to just copy and paste that quotation on
google.com and hit the "Im feeling lucky" button? Same result, less
time and 3$ saved.

Google Answers is a good resource but I believe the price should be
set at $20 minimum - to filter out these type of questions.

If the Google researcher is quite happy to send the answer and I am
quite happy to pay the price, I fail to see what valentinp-ga is
complaining about!!
