I need the issue date of The New Yorker magazine containing an "Annals
of Crime" article about a scam perpetrated by an antiques dealer in a
major Texas city. I believe the article appeared in the 1960's. If a

The New Yorker is indexed by Infotrac, a fee-based service available
at many public libraries for free.  However, it only goes back to
about 1980.

Your best bet is to find a libary which has retained the old Readers
Guide to Periodical Literature and do a manual search.
