I would like to know how many people are members of Online Social Networks and what has been the growth rate of membership in this "industry of OSNs". Examples of OSNs are myspace.com, friendster.com, linkedin.com. and aSmallworld.com. If this could also be expressed as a % of online Internet users, that would be great. If it could be broken out by US vs. world users that would also be great. |

For myspace there are two web pages that list membership numbers: 19.2 million profiles (as of June 22, 2005) (source: http://www.answers.com/topic/myspace) 32 million users (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MySpace) Facebook 8.3 million users since Feb 2004 11th most visited website (source: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/10/23/MNGAQFCQJ01.DTL) (source: http://www.answers.com/topic/Thefacebook) |
