Hello chrisz,

Below you will find the estimated number of aircraft and helicopters worldwide.

 312,000 Active General Aviation Aircraft
  17,770 Passenger Aircraft
  89,129 Military Aircraft
  26,500 Civil Helicopters
  29,700 Military Helicopters.

According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association there are
approximately 312,000 active general aviation aircraft worldwide.

?General aviation (GA) is defined as all aviation other than scheduled
commercial airlines and military aviation.

Over 312,000 general aviation aircraft including helicopters,
single-engine piston-powered airplanes, multi-engine turboprops, and
intercontinental business jets are flying throughout the world.?

According to Tom Smith, Taser president and co-founder, in an interview, there are
about 17,700 passenger aircraft worldwide.

Quote:

?We?ve had a lot of interest from other carriers for our technology,
but never had the approval from the TSA, said Tom Smith, Taser?s
president and co-founder, in an interview.

It is significant because I do think we will have a certain role in
aviation security, and you will see more sales coming from other
carriers, he added.

There are about 17,700 passenger aircraft worldwide, he said.?

According to Flight International's 2003 Military Aircraft Census,
there are an estimated 89,129 military aircraft worldwide.

?Overall, the number of military aircraft worldwide (excluding
historic and recreational types) is 89,129 - slightly down on 2002.?

(?)

?Regions seeing serious falls in the numbers of military aircraft
include Central Asia - down 9.8% to 1,228; Latin America and the
Caribbean, where the figure has declined 6.3% to 5,412; and non-NATO
Europe, down 5.5% to 13,786. Much of this is as a result of the
wholesale retirement of inefficient fleets. Within Central Asia, a
large part of the fall is due to around 140 Aero Vodochody L-39s and
Mil Mi-24s left in Kyrgyzstan when the Soviet Union broke up being
removed from the republic's inventory. A similar fate has befallen
some fleets in Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine plans to remove 600
aircraft - and 10 to 12 brigades - from the air force order of battle
by 2005.?
