I do not believe there are any partition managers for OS X yet. Partition Magic is the only one I know of for Windows that will 'grow' a partition in size. Generally, there are two options: 1) Backup, format, repartition and re-install, or 2) format the OS 9 partition and mount it as a separate disc. With the UNIX file system, that can be nearly transparant - just mount it as, say, /home/mp3z or /data/mp3z for all of your MP3 files. Should be invisible to the finder. Of course, I could be wrong - that's how it works in UNIX, but I'm not an OS X expert yet. |

wengland is correct. There is no possible way to do this at this time. Using a unix link command may give you a temporary fix, but rebuilding Mac OS X from scratch is the way I would go - it's too darn easy these days. If you have an external drive big enough to back up your laptop, it should go rather quickly. I've rebuilt my laptop in well under 2 hours, including OS re-install, MySQL db instal. It's really quite simple with OS X. All you really need worry about is your users folder, and your applications folder. |
