Question ID: 584262
Find a supported, simple CAD tool applet that I can embed in my web
site so that my customers can draw rough floor plans, with dimensions,
at my site and then send them to me. I would then open the drawings in
Visio, and use them to layout my product and provide the customer with
a purchase and installation estimate.
Preferrably, the product would include the following features:
1) User can set the drawing dimension in familiar units and scale with
the info embedded in the drawing
2) Draw with basic shapes (lines (both free-angled or constrained to
0, 45 and 90 degrees), rectangles, and circles)
3) Add text boxes and text where desired
4) Select, re-size, move, or delete shapes once drawn
5) Have rulers on the drawing window or have a properties window that
shows the dimension of the currently selected shape
6) Applet runs in the web page, no user requirements other than browser
7) Button on the window that sends the drawing to me (vsd or dxf
format), along with information the user provides on a form
8) Print button for the user
9) A template of drawing objects, such as walls, doors, ceiling tiles,
etc., the user can choose, drop into the drawing, and size (a nice to
have, not a hard requirement)
Imagine a very simple version of Visio that you would use on a web
site. Looking to pay less than $1000 for the software. Software does
not have to meet all of the above requirements exactly. Would like to
review 5 or so candidates.
