I need the last 20 years annual expenditures on roofing in U.S.  New
or replacement or both. The data must come from a consistent source
and must be complete. I am interested in how much these expenditures
fluctuate and how responsive they are to the economy, especially the
replacement market. A good white paper or well informed in depth
article could be a replacement for the data. Unfortunately, I need an
answer by tomorrow morning, so please take that into consideration if
you attempt to answer it.

The closest I can come tonight is a report that provides in-depth
information for asphalt roofs -- sales, prices, major producers -- for
a period of about ten years, from 1990 to about 2001.

Would be of help at all?

Thank you for giving this most demanding project a shot. 

I really need aggregate spending figures for the entire roofing
industry for the last 20 years. The details don't help much. I could
accept a very professional report that analyzes how much the
aggregates vary from year to year and the factors that impact these
changes.  I don't think any less will help enough to make it
worthwhile. I have some recent annual reports from NRCA's magazine
"Professional Roofing."

I just wanted to let you know that it's unlikely I'd be able to find
anything this late in the day.  Perhaps another researcher will have
more luck.
