Looking for software or on-line tool that can analyze historical stock
market data going back 10-15 years. Software should answer questions
like: "Generate a list of mid-cap companies that had 3 years of
consecutive stock price decline starting year X."
It does not seem that Yahoo's or MSN tools would be suitable for such tasks.
Software or web sites should be free or less than $500. |

jimbell-ga,
I believe this free-trial software might do the trick:
http://www.fasttrack.net/
I'm not certain, as I've been meaning for some time to give it a trial
run, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
You may well have more motiviation than me, so go ahead, give it a
whirl, and let me know if it meets your needs.
Cheers,

Good. Let me know what you find out.
If you give me enough of an overview of this software, I might wind up
owing you $20...!
Look forward to hearing from you.

So, this software cannot really do the task. It seems to be a very
sophisticated product though, and customer service is excellent - they
walked me through a series of actions to get the report, but the final
steps I had to do in Excel myself.
It would probably take some time to master this program - although it
looks simple at first.
Are there any other suggestions?
