Hi

 You need to have your Marriage Certificate translated by legally
certified translator and then  it must be superlegalised;

OR it has to provided with appostille and then translated.

Appostille is cheaper but you may have to explain to US officials what it is.

Make sure translator does not mess-up the dates:

5.6 is fifth July in CR but 6th May in US.

Appostille was agreed upon (by Geneva convenction) to simplify the process.
It is faster and cheaper then superlegalisation, but you need to ask the CR
'radnice' to issue it. Both CR and US igned the convention.

Congratulations!
Any wedding legally recognized in the country where it was performed
is recognized by the USA. Check the answer to this question:

I suspect that registering a marriage is slightly different than it
being legally recognized. Contact the closest U.S. consulate or
embassy, since that is probably where it would have to be done anyway.

Do remember if you have children, to also register their birth at the
same place, since any child may have legal rights if registered.
