1)  Who is the *best* doctor for Lasik eye surgery in the los angeles
area?  (This of course is arbitrary.. but a few who are highly highly
qualified?)

2)  What is currently the *best* machine for Lasik? (ie, I keep
hearing wavefront, etc etc..)    Money is no issue - I want the best. 
Note: I don't think I have any special conditions such as stigmatism.

2)  What specific questions should I ask the doctor about my eyes that
I can then use for further research.  (Not merely how many has he done
etc.)

Re #1:  I'm looking for the best doctors that most reliably and
precisely perform the procedure. Doctors that are known for fixing the
screwed-up procedures of others are strongly preferred, as are those
who train other doctors on how to
perform the procedure.  The number of procedures performed is less
important than the record of success and reputation of the doctor. 
The cost of the procedure is not a concern.

I got mine done at Emory in Atlanta, GA.  I believe it was largely
invented there.   Gotta say, I'm very happy with mine.
