I am looking for a software package that will either search (specific
or general) web sites for a list of given product numbers, capture
posted price information to an analysis program.

please clarify what you mean by "price position"

I would use your Froogle wish list and get any PHP guy to write you a
script that subtracts the Froogle page price from your current price. 
Shouldn't be too hard.  I can even refer you to people who can do that
for you.
