2. How many new drugs and generic drugs are created by these companies every year?

3. How many of them seek FDA approval? How about approval to sell in Europe?

you might count the number of PhRMA and its European and Japanese
counterparts for  company counts.

EMEA and FDA would be the approval bodies for EU and US, so you could
count the "new" products that are approved.  Many drugs are "created"
in the lab but they never get past animal tests.
