The name of the company is Pacific International Insurance Company,
Ltd. incorporated in 1990 in Samoa, according to their website
<www.insurance-pacific.com/AboutUs/AboutPacific.htm>. I want some
independent verification of their reputation and legal status. They
have recently ignored my requests for references or their
financial statement, although I've paid their premiums for four years.
Also, please tell me the sources of your information.

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institue in England.  They
have one of the best insurance libraries in the world.  I submitted
your question to the CII and they replied:

'I?m afraid to say that we have looked through every source we can
think of to find any mention of this company, but with no success. 
The only thing we can recommend is that the person involved contacts
the Samoan government to see if they can advise if there is an
insurance regulatory body, which we have been unable to find.  The
website of the government is www.govt.ws
