Sometimes, the mortgage company will forward you a copy of the (paid in full)/recorded deed. Which is used to provide (proof of ownership) You can call them and ask for a copy; they may be able to provide a copy of it to you for a small fee. Otherwise, just go to the county recorders office to obtain a copy. Going to the county would be (most likely) the fastest way to get the copy you want/need. It can take up to 90 days for your mortgage company to satisfy the lien at the county (depending on your states requirements) after you make a full payoff. So, you may first want to confirm that the lien has been recorded a. by going/calling to the county, b. call the mortgage company to confirm before jaunting down to the county... ...Its not unusual for mortgage company's to be "slow" about the release/recordation process. I am not a google researcher, just have a lot of experience in the mortgage/loan industry. |
