Maximum if they are pointed at the same direction.
Resultant, max. R = 3.5 +7.5 = 11.0 km.

Minimum if they are pointed at oppsite directions.
Min. R = 7.5 -3.5 = 4.0 km
But that is difference, not sum, you might say.
Okay.
Min. R = 7.5 +(-3.5) = 4.0 km.
Is that allright now?
