looking for a list of adult education Real Estate
investment/development seminars or courses in Southern California
(Orange County, CA prefered). Want to review the financial basics of
buying commercial properties and analyzing Return on investment. will
consider online courses. Will audit a college
course, if they let me. Want to avoid the "no money down" or "get
rich quick" type seminars.

Thanks for asking!

I've compiled a list of Community Colleges in Orange County that offer
basic Real Estate courses (i.e. Real Estate Principles, and Real
Estate Financing, etc.). I've linked the Fall 2002 class schedules for
each institution. You'll need to check individually with each College
to determine if the classes listed are still open to enrollment.
Admission and course audit policies vary from school to school.

Community Education and Adult Education Courses

I'm hesitant to offer the following link to the Community Education
division at Saddleback Community College. Several of the
classes/seminars listed seem to be the exact titles you -don't- want.
However, a couple of the offerings seem to be less hype and more
learning.

Huntington Beach Adult Community Education

Two courses offered in investing, interesting partially because of the
listed instructor, Ron Witter, of Dean, Witter.

Private Seminar

I've also located an upcoming seminar, sponsored by the Orange County
Real Estate Club. The seminar outline indicates that the subjects
covered are peripheral to Real Estate investments. You'd have to
contact the sponsors or seminar instructors to determine if these
topics could be an applicable part of your personal learning program.

In the course of the seminar research, I ran across an online
investment site that seems to be worth investigating for the advice of
fellow real estate investors. The tone of the posts in the forum is
helpful and friendly, hype free, and professional.
