I'm interested in starting up a catering business. I understand that
there are plenty of laws behind the requirements and I'm not sure
where to begin. I would like for someone to answer for me the
following questions:
A. What are the legal requirements behind catering? Any licenses?
Catering licenses? Food/Health Administration requirements, etc.?
What do I need LEGALLY to actually be in business.
B. I don't want to open a restaurant, but I will need a kitchen to
rent. Please find out if this is my ONLY option (to be a caterer). If
not, what is my most cost-effective option? I can't find any kitchens
for rent in San Diego, California. I don't even know where to begin
finding one. Can you find some resources that list kitchens for rent,
how much they go for on average, etc. The links for the listings/
contact info would be nice.
C. I am NOT serving alcohol, so that is not an issue. The food type is
Persian (in case you need to know).
D. Based on your research and what you've found, can you give me a
breakdown of the costs behind startup and monthly maintenence. For all
the the REQUIREED costs, please detail how much they are on average (I
understand that prices are not exact, but an idea is what I want. For
example, "insurance is typically $50-200 / per month depending on
specifics of the business" is the form I would like).
The costs that I have so far are:
Startup Costs:
Incorporation - $500.00
Corporate branding (website, logo, flyers, etc.) - $2,000.00
Delivery van: $12,000.00
-please add based on your research-
Monthly costs:
Gas: $200 - 300
Advertising: $1,000-2,000
insurance: ??
-please add based on your research- |
