Here is a picture: http://img500.imageshack.us/img500/6664/phonograph8af.jpg And some text from the antique dealer selling this item: "On the front of the main piece there is written in gold lettering TRADE MARK Thomas A Edison. There is engraved the # S36808 on the upper right hand corner and in 2 other places. The first patent # was Dec. 4 1888 and the last was May 31 1898. There is a case that has 32 reels in it that goes with it and I have 4 more reels. There is an engraving on it that states Edison Phonographs sold by Nat'l Phono Co. To the best of my knowledge it only needs a new belt to again play. The belt that is on it is very stretched. The reel holder still turns but to slow to play." |

Just a comment-- I've seen thse and similar phonos around at auctions and antique stores, never for a lot of money, but I've not seen the "reels." I think the cylinders might be more valuable, depending on condition and content. Treat them carefully, and good luck. |
