Is there any evidence that the ACLU receives federal funding, directly
or indirectly?

Its web site (http://tinyurl.com/948l7) states categorically that it
receives no govt funding, and yet I have heard otherwise,
specifically, that when the ACLU brings suit, as in a civil rights
violation, the govt picks up a portion of the costs. Is this indeed
true?
